FAQs

Does hypnotherapy work when done virtually?

Yes, absolutely. During these challenging times, most therapies have been adapted for online service, which has been proven to be just as effective as offline services. This holds true for hypnotherapy. You will get hypnotized and converse with me –the same as you would in a face-to-face session. Virtual sessions open up the accessibility of the therapist, and you can get your sessions from anywhere.  It is the faster approach to therapy, and those who hate the formal setup of a clinic will appreciate doing it from wherever they feel most comfortable.

Can you get stuck in hypnosis?

Simple Answer, NO.  You are in control the whole time you are under hypnosis.  You can perform all other functions like talk, shift positions or leave the session.

How long do counselling and hypnotherapy sessions last?

On average, hypnotherapy sessions span between 90-120 minutes.

Counselling sessions are 60 minutes long.

What if my past is too terrifying and upsetting?

The essence of hypnotherapy is to get to the bottom of your issues to solve them from the root.  Nonetheless, on the off chance that the events in your past are very traumatic, it is critical to remember that you are not re-living the moment—it’s not happening again. Hypnotherapy only helps you to review it. When you work with me, I will help you through the whole process and create a safe space for you where you can freely express your emotions and recover from them completely.

Can I take more sessions than are prescribed?

Hypnotherapy borrows heavily from several top therapy techniques. It is meant to inspire a profound change in your life.  For some clients, a single session is enough to solve a particular issue but depending on how deep-rooted the issues are, you may need up to three sessions. Despite the transformative power, I can only work with clients on one problem at a time. If you want to work on multiple issues, more sessions may be necessary.

Is seeking counselling a sign of weakness?

Far from it,  seeking counselling shows that you are committed to making yourself better. Being willing to dissect and surmount your challenges is a brave act, because it is terrifying for many to explore touchy topics in their lives.  It is normal for anyone to experience stress, anxiety, or depression, and everyone responds differently under these circumstances. Each individual has unique coping mechanisms. For most, counselling can help individuals become better and stronger than before—almost like going to a gym, albeit for personal issues.

When will I start seeing changes?

Everyone experiences hypnotherapy and hypnosis differently. Your changes could be immediate, incremental, or retroactive. The one constant is that you will experience positive change from it.

What if I think I know the reasons for my issues?

Hypnotherapy is immensely powerful. Despite what you believe before going into hypnosis, you will acquire new perspectives into your life. Hypnotherapy opens you up to your subconscious, and you will discover new things about yourself that you never knew.

Will people find out what we talk about?

In all counselling and/or  hypnotherapy sessions, I require that you are in a safe, private space if we are to go deep into intimate scenes from your life. I am bound by professional ethics, and standards that require confidentiality. However, in some cases—extremely rare circumstances, like by court order, some information can be shared.
